Jenny Stamford: Vice-Chair & Secretary

Jenny was elected in 2019 to be the Vice-Chair of the board of trustees as the organisation moves to CIO registration. Jenny has been a member of the Executive Committee for over 35 years, serving as Chair for 6 years and Fundraising Co-ordinator for over 35 years.  Jenny joined the organisation in 1980 just after the birth of her son who has Autism and a Learning Disability.

Jenny has worked as a Personnel Officer in the private sector and has worked in the Education sector both in Welfare and Training. During the last 22 years of her career she held a Management position in the Local Authority Youth Sector. Her employment experience includes working both operationally and at the Management level with Personnel, Training, and Development responsibilities in addition to Safeguarding and Youth and Community development.

More recently Jenny has retired from her professional work and is now volunteering part-time to Co-ordinate fundraising through the Mencap Charity shop as well as continuing to support learning disability activities such as Gateway, Swimming, and Bowling. Jenny enjoys spending her spare time doing creative crafts and with her family.
