Active Community Engagement FACEBOOK BANNER plus copy

Through a successful National Lottery Community Fund bid, we have increased our ACE Project to the ACE Plus Project – Active Community Engagement, up and running.

We will receive increased funding to keep this project running until 2027 and hopefully beyond!

This project and funding will focus directly on further enhancing the activities we provide, ensuring they are person-centred and supporting further community engagement, across key activity areas, including Health and Well-being, Food, Performance, Creative, Audiovisual digital, World, Voice, and Volunteering.

This project is a really positive step in rebuilding our services following the COVID 19 pandemic and encouraging service user engagement and participation in activities and the wider community.

This project aims to:

Increase awareness of needs and skills of people with a learning disability (PWLD). Offer PWLD support, if needed, to attend appointments including Annual Health Check.

Provide social activities improving friendships, social, communication skills, and happiness reducing loneliness and isolation.

Enable PWLD to access a variety of cultural, creative, community activities, increasing their physical, social, emotional and mental well-being.

Enable peer support to develop emotional regulation and resilience. Increase the number of PWLD accessing volunteering opportunities, improving life opportunities.

Enable PWLD to co-produce training for key staff in Health and Social Care to be the voice in what they need in-terms of service/support.

Enable volunteers and staff involved to enhance their skills and personal development.

This will be achieved through the following Key outputs: Estimated activities, volunteers recruited, approximate people attending sessions or support etc.
